I’m living the life of my dreams! If someone had told me that this would happen, I would not have believed it. I have always considered artists to be special unearthly people. And I’m ordinary. Economic education, three children. But then the pandemic, quarantine began, and I realized that I didn’t want anything so passionately as learning how to draw. My eldest daughter gave me brushes and a set of paints for my birthday. And the son paid for a drawing course. Color has always fascinated me! Its a beautiful harmonious combination. And with painting, I entered a new wonderful world! This is my world!

As a child, I studied at art school, then grew up and began to do completely different things.
After 40 years, she returned to painting quite by accident!
Helped as always. After the repair, acrylic paint remained and there was a desire to paint a small landscape in monochrome. Oddly enough, the landscape was a success and this served as an impetus for a return to a childhood hobby.
I take part in city and regional exhibitions, experiment with techniques, but most of all I love oil.

My name is Irina Astakhova, I was born in 1982, and as long as I remember myself, I know the smell of linseed oil and the impatient waiting of what will appear on the white surface of a canvas, I remember the easel of my grandpa with small peas of paints on a pallet. It was some endless magic.
As I was prohibited to go to drawing classes, I was dreaming about colours for years but could make up my mind, I came to painting at my late 30s, when I finally let myself take oil paints and canvas.
Now I’m continuing to study, and I paint a few sketches a week, I love paintings but now it’s coming from the other side too, not only being a viewer but being an author.
